Dreadmoor Trawler

Dry dock modules, hull protection, fuel runs, and surviving the water after dark.

Trawler Overview & Core Systems

The trawler is not transport, it is the run's lifeline. It carries you to deeper water, stores the catch that pays for everything, and is the only way back before nightfall. Dream Dock builds the whole risk curve around that: the further you travel from inhabited water, the less predictable the world becomes, and the more a damaged hull actually costs you.

Upgrades happen physically at a dry dock rather than in a menu. You repair polyps and hull damage, then install components piece by piece — engine and propeller for speed, reinforced hull for survival, a spotlight for darkness, an afterburner for escape, a canister rack for range. Progress is gated by materials and by the engineer who owns the dock, so the boat silo and the guide silo overlap on purpose: fixing the still is a boat upgrade step.

Hull Is Income

A destroyed trawler takes the catch with it. Hull protection is the cheapest insurance in the game.

Fuel Sets Range

Every detour spends fuel. Plan the return leg before the outbound one, and keep a canister rack in mind.

Night Is a Different Map

Familiar water after dark is not the same water. Sleep at the bunkhouse until the boat can handle it.

Dreadmoor Trawler FAQ

How do you upgrade the boat in Dreadmoor?

Take the trawler to the dry dock and install crafted components. The demo requires hull protection and an upgraded engine before you can attempt The Throat.

What happens if the boat is destroyed?

You lose the catch with it. Most equipment persists between trips, which is why hull and storage upgrades protect income rather than convenience.

Can you sleep to skip night?

Yes, the bunkhouse bed advances to morning in the demo. Later expeditions are where night becomes a choice rather than something to avoid.
